Scheme of Delegation
The Scheme of Delegation is a crucial document that outlines the lines of responsibility and accountability within a multi-academy trust. It specifies the authority delegated by the Board of Directors to the Chief Executive, detailing the tasks the Chief Executive is responsible for and how these tasks should be performed.
The directors delegate the overall performance of the Trust, including the performance of its academies, to the Chief Executive. In turn, some responsibilities related to the performance of each academy are delegated to the respective local governing bodies. Headteachers are directly accountable to the Chief Executive for the day-to-day operations of their academies and are supported by their senior leadership teams.
The Scheme of Delegation ensures clarity regarding roles and responsibilities, enabling everyone to focus on improving outcomes for the children and young people in their care.
The Scheme of Delegation is typically reviewed annually and ensures that any necessary updates or changes are made to reflect current practices and responsibilities.
